US Virgin Islands —The VI Department of Health (VIDOH) is issuing guidance for all persons planning on attending the Addie Ottley Concert Fundraiser at the Reichheld Center for the Arts on Sunday, April 24th .
All attendees are strongly urged to practice the recommended safety measures to protect yourself from COVID-19. This includes wearing masks properly, frequent hand washing or the use of hand sanitizer, and social distancing throughout the duration of the concert event.
At the gate to the concert area concert goers will need to show either their vaccination card or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within the previous 48 hours.
“Our COVID-19 cases are continuing to climb territorially with three individuals hospitalized on St. Thomas where this concert will be held,” stated Reuben Molloy, Acting Commissioner of Health, “This is why it is very important that each of us, especially those of us on St. Thomas, to take personal responsibility for protecting ourselves and our loved ones even more seriously.”
“UVI expects to see over 1,500 guests at this special fundraising event. Due to the size of the crowd, it’s quite possible to come into contact with someone recently exposed to the virus who is contagious,” continued Molloy, “Please do what you can to protect yourself. Wear your mask, wash your hands and socially distance.”
