Statement of Purpose:
The Virgin Islands Department of Health (to include Family Planning Maternal and Child Health, behavioral Health, and Community Health) operates in accordance with the provisions of Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975 and all Regulations of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services issued pursuant to the statues in Title 45 Code of the Federal Regulations Parts 80, 84 and 91.
Policy Statement:
It is the policy of the Virgin Islands Department of Health not to discriminate on the basis of gender, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, disability, race, age, national origin, or marital status in any of its activities and/or operations.
It is the policy of the Virgin Islands Department of Health (to include Family Planning Maternal and Child Health, Mental Health and Community Health) to provide services to clients regardless of his/her inability to pay. The Department accepts reimbursement in the form of Medicaid, Medicare, Private Insurance and/or Self Pay. Persons who are financially unable to meet the full cost of services will be assessed for eligibility for the sliding scale or a nominal fee for services rendered.

The Virgin Islands Department of Health is committed to providing quality and affordable health care services.
