US Virgin Islands —The VI Department of Health (VIDOH) today announced the closure of the following offices, clinics, and the Community Vaccination Centers (CVC) in relation to the St. Thomas Carnival.
The Community Vaccine Centers (CVC’s) along with all VIDOH clinics and administrative offices in the St. Thomas/St. John/Water Island District will be closed on Wednesday, April 27 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and on Thursday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
On Friday, April 29th all VIDOH offices, clinics and CVC’s will be closed in both Districts from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Despite the closures in the St. Thomas/St. John District during the Carnival schedule, the public is reminded that there will be a VIDOH van and a tent at the Carnival Village to provide COVID-19 vaccines, as well as COVID-19, HIV and STD testing, each night from 7 to 10 p.m. Additionally, anyone who becomes fully vaccinated through April 30, whether at the clinics or at the Village or Food Fair, will receive the $250 incentive gift card.
The Department also asks residents to protect themselves and their loved ones throughout the Carnival festivities by following the recommended guidelines on hand-washing and social distancing, especially with persons with whom they do not reside and encourages all residents wear masks, especially when in large crowds.
