St. John, U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The VI Department of Health is advising the St. John community that the Morris DeCastro Clinic is closed for the remainder of this week due poor air circulation at the facility.

On Wednesday, the department announced the clinic would close at 12 p.m. for the remainder of the week after the air conditioning unit malfunctioned. However, the excessive heat and poor air circulation has made inside the clinic unbearable for staff and customers.

Individuals seeking health cards and requiring immediate assistance are advised to visit the Environmental Health Division located in the Knud Hansen Complex at Hospital Ground, St. Thomas.

The department will provide an update on the resumption of services by Sunday. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and ask for the community’s patience as it works to repair the air conditioning unit.
