U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The VI Department of Health is advising the public of additional office closures due to the power outages caused by Tropical Storm Ernesto.
On St. Croix, the closures also include the Community Health and Maternal Child Health clinics, and the Communicable Diseases Division located at the former Caribe Home Center at Castle Coakley.
On St. John, the Morris F. deCastro Clinic is also closed today.
Earlier, the department announced the closure of the offices of Environmental Health and Vital Records and Statistics located at Sion Farm on St. Croix.
On St. Thomas, the closures include the offices of Environmental Health, Communicable Diseases, Vital Records and Statistics, Information Technology, some Finance operations which are located in the John S. Moorehead Complex at Hospital Ground.
All other VI Department of Health offices are open for normal operations today.
The VI Water and Power Authority is working to energize pockets of the Territory without power following Ernesto’s strong winds and rain. We apologize for any inconvenience the closures may cause and ask for the public’s patience and understanding.
