Emergency Prescription Assistance Program Available in The U.S. Virgin Islands

As of Wednesday, November 1, 2017

(October 31, 2017, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI)) When an emergency strikes, medications can get lost or damaged, putting one’s health and well-being at risk. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) has activated the Emergency Prescription Assistance Program (EPAP) to help residents of the U.S. Virgin Islands get medicine, medical supplies, medical equipment, and vaccines.

Following a disaster, EPAP helps individuals, without health insurance, recoup losses pertaining to medicine and medical supplies that they need to manage their conditions.

The program replaces medicine, medical supplies, and medical equipment that were lost, stolen, or damaged due to the disaster. This service is available at no cost. Prescriptions for medications and medical supplies may be renewed every 30 days, for as long as the EPAP is active.

For questions regarding how to enroll for EPAP, call 855-793-7470.
