DOH to Conduct Community Assessment Survey
(November 7, 2017, U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI)) The USVI Department of Health (DOH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will be conducting community surveys from November 8th-10th on the island of St. Croix and November 13th-15th on St. Thomas/St. John. The purpose of the survey is to assess community needs after the hurricanes and to help guide the ongoing response efforts. The event is called a Community Assessment for Public Health Emergency Response (CASPER). Many may recall that the DOH conducted a CASPER event last June and this event will follow a similar approach. The Department of Health staff will be going to various neighborhoods to conduct house-to-house surveys. They will be credentialed with a DOH identification card and will be conducting surveys outside of your home. Please be aware no personal information will be asked, and no entry or assessment of your home is needed to conduct the survey.
