Department of Health To Host HIV Summit 2022

US Virgin Islands — The VI Department of Health, Chronic Disease Division, the Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC), and the Northeast/Caribbean AIDS Education and Training Center (NE/CA AETC) have collaborated to bring a two-day HIV Summit to the territory on Thursday, March 10th and Friday, March 11th at the University of the Virgin Islands St. Croix Campus.

Combining their resources, DOH and their partners aim to eliminate HIV and related stigmas while linking Virgin Islanders to modern HIV care and support services. “We are excited to strengthen HIV care services in the territory as we approach our goal of getting to zero and ending the HIV epidemic in the USVI by 2030,” said Robert Thompson, HIV Prevention Coordinator for the DOH Communicable Disease Division.

Various local and visiting speakers will present updated clinical guidelines and innovative HIV prevention and treatment approaches. Primary care providers, allied health care professionals, primary care health teams, community organizations, community health workers, and people with lived experience are encouraged to register today.

To be as safe as possible, this is a fully vaccinated event, and masks are required. If you will not be fully vaccinated by those dates, register, and we will send you a link to stream the plenary sessions. Individual sessions and workshops will not be streamed.

Registration for the HIV Summit 2022 is open. Help bring the number of new HIV infections to our territory to zero. Register at: If you have any questions, please email or PCDC at
