VI Departments of Health and Human Services Launch Bi-Monthly News Briefing

US VIRGIN ISLANDS — The VI Department of Health and the VI Department of Human Services are partnering to provide the public with timely updates on critical health and social service issues through a new bi-monthly livestreamed news briefing.

The first briefing will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Government House on St. Croix and will continue every other week. Members of the media are invited to attend in person.

The briefings will be livestreamed on the Government Access Channel (Channel 27), as well as on the Facebook pages of Government House, the VI Department of Health, and the VI Department of Human Services.

These Health and Human Services News Briefings aim to provide Virgin Islanders with accurate, timely information on issues affecting health, wellness, and social services —particularly as public health policies and national trends continue to evolve.

The inaugural briefing will be hosted by Government House Communications Director Richard Motta Jr., and will feature:

  • Dr. Tai Hunte-Ceasar, Chief Medical Officer, VI Department of Health
  • Dr. Esther Ellis, Territorial Epidemiologist, VI Department of Health
  • Judy David, SNAP Eligibility Supervisor, VI Department of Human Services
  • Alvin Milligan, Senior Citizens Affairs Administrator, VI Department of Human Services

Future briefings will include rotating guests from leadership and program teams across both departments, who will share important advisories, program updates, and information on upcoming events throughout the territory.
