Department of Health’s USVI Health and Wellness Fair Set for June 2–13, 2025

U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS – The Virgin Islands Department of Health is pleased to announce the return of the USVI Health and Wellness Fair, a territory-wide initiative designed to deliver free health services to residents while strengthening their connection to ongoing care.

“We are proud to continue offering this important opportunity for individuals and families to take control of their health,” said Justa Encarnacion, Commissioner of Health. “Knowing your numbers— your blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose levels, and yes, your HIV status— is the first step in managing your health. I encourage everyone to attend, ask questions, and keep moving forward on their health and wellness journey.”

The fair will take place:

  • June 2–6, 2025, at the St. Croix Educational Complex
  • June 9–12, 2025, at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School on St. Thomas
  • June 13, 2025, at the Morris F. De Castro Clinic on St. John

Each location will offer services from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily.

Services, all free of charge, include:

  • Health Screenings: Cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and HIV testing
  • Women’s Health: Breast cancer screenings, Pap smears, and HPV screening
  • Men’s Health: Digital rectal exams
  • Children’s Services: School physicals and vaccinations
  • Adult Immunizations
  • Behavioral Health Services

No appointment or pre-registration is required. Services are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This year’s fair emphasizes the importance of linkage to care — ensuring that individuals who receive screenings or services are connected with healthcare providers for follow-up and long-term support.

“This is about making healthcare more accessible and providing a strong linkage to care,” said Dr. Tai Hunte-Ceasar, Chief Medical Officer. “We want every resident—young and old—to stay informed, stay screened, and stay on track with their health. Take the time to come out, get checked, and be empowered to make informed decisions about your health.”

The 2025 USVI Health and Wellness Fair will feature healthcare providers, federally qualified health centers, and community organizations from across the territory. These partners will offer services on-site and guide residents toward necessary follow-up care.

Please note: The Department of Defense will not participate this year due to federal budget cuts. However, the VI National Guard Medical Brigade will be on-site to support health teams.

To further promote mental and emotional well-being, each site will feature a daily “Zen Zone” in the afternoons, offering yoga, dance, art, music, or mindfulness activities —helping participants reset and recharge after attending to their physical health.

The Department of Health is also partnering with the VI Department of Human Services (DHS) to connect residents with long-term health and social support programs. DHS will offer on-site registration for key services, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). These services are especially valuable for families and individuals seeking access to nutritious food, medical care, and critical social support.

The Virgin Islands Department of Health encourages individuals and families of all ages to attend and take advantage of these free services.
