Please be advised, the
Department of Health's Charles Harwood Complex (DOH), on
St. Croix, experienced a power outage, this morning,
that caused extensive damage to the transfer switch. The
DOH's electrician identified that the damage was too
extensive for power to be restored today. As a result
the staff was dismissed at 10:30am. The department does
not foresee being able to repair the damage to the
transfer switch until the end of the week.
The executive team and
directors are developing a plan to continue all
services. In the interim the DOH plans to see all
Community Health and Maternal, Child, Health (MCH)
clients who have scheduled appointments on Thursday,
February 2nd and Friday, February 3rd.
Immunization program will still provide results for skin
test readings, on tomorrow, Thursday, February 2nd,
between 9am and 11 am.
The DOH will provide an
update as to the status of the transfer
switch/electricity and hours of operation for the coming
week as is necessary and/or becomes available.
