The public (community stakeholders, public/private sector, senators, medical professionals, etc.) is cordially invited to attend the Department of Health’s Communicable Diseases World Aids Day Candle Light Vigil & Reception, on Thursday, December 1st. World Aids Day is recognized every year on December 1st; it is an opportunity for people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died.
December 1st (Thursday) – World AIDS Day is also a time to celebrate progress in care and treatment since the 1990’s and a time to pay homage to those who continue to fight and endure the battle. The 2016 campaign theme is: “Leadership, Commitment, Impact.”
December 1, 2016, 5:30pm- Walk, 6:00pm Candlelight Vigil & Reception; - The event on St. Croix will begin at 5:30pm, with a march from Basin Triangle parking lot, to Fort Christian. The Vigil is then expected to begin at 6:00pm at the Gazebo in front of Fort Christian. A Meet-&-Greet reception, with light refreshments, will immediately follow the Vigil.
